Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the TaxiNaija mobile application or any related services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. TaxiNaija Technologies LTD (RC 9320671, Nigeria) and TaxiNaija Technologies LLC (Wyoming, USA) collectively operate as "TaxiNaija." If you do not agree, you must not use our platform.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use TaxiNaija
- Drivers must possess a valid Nigerian driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance
- Drivers must pass identity verification and vehicle inspection requirements
- You must provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
Services Description
TaxiNaija is a technology platform that connects riders with independent drivers. Drivers are independent contractors, not employees. Our platform includes:
- Ride matching: Connecting riders with nearby available drivers
- Real-time navigation: AI-powered voice guidance with traffic-aware routing
- Smart Trip Check-In: Automated safety monitoring that detects vehicle stagnation
- Live trip sharing: Real-time trip tracking shared with trusted contacts
- SOS emergency alerts: One-tap emergency notification
- In-app wallet: Digital wallet for seamless fare payments and driver earnings
- Multi-language support: English, Yoruba, Igbo, and Hausa
- Driver rating system: Performance tracking with Nigerian-themed achievement levels
Fare Structure and Payments
Base fare: Calculated based on distance, estimated time, and current demand.
Overtime charges: If a trip exceeds estimated duration, an overtime surcharge of ₦2 per second is applied for excess time.
Commission: TaxiNaija retains 15%. Drivers receive 85% of the fare.
Wallet and withdrawals: Driver earnings are deposited into the in-app wallet. Withdrawals are subject to a 24-hour processing hold.
Safety Features and Obligations
Smart Trip Check-In: When our system detects a vehicle has been stationary for an extended period, both driver and rider receive a safety check-in. Failure to respond may trigger automatic safety alerts.
- Riders and drivers must behave respectfully and lawfully at all times
- Drivers must maintain their vehicle in safe operating condition
- Users must not misuse the SOS feature; false alerts may result in account suspension
Driver Obligations
- Maintain a valid driver's license and all required permits
- Keep vehicle registration and insurance current
- Comply with all Nigerian traffic laws
- Maintain driver rating above the minimum threshold
- Do not cancel accepted trips without valid reason
Account Suspension and Termination
TaxiNaija may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, unsafe behavior, consistently low ratings, or misuse of safety features. Contact contact@taxinaija.com to close your account.
Intellectual Property
All content, design, trademarks, logos, and software associated with TaxiNaija are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Limitation of Liability
TaxiNaija is a technology platform and does not provide transportation services directly. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Dispute Resolution
Disputes shall first be addressed through our in-app support. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Oyo State, Nigeria. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
